Rope Access Technician (Level 2)
Job Summary
Agility Projects & Consulting (Pty) Ltd is seeking a qualified Rope Access Technician (Level 2) to support industrial maintenance and cleaning operations. The successful candidate will carry out rope access work safely and efficiently while assisting in the planning and execution of specialised access systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid IRATA Level 2 Certificate (or equivalent recognised rope access qualification)
- Valid Working at Heights Certificate
- Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
- Minimum 2–3 years’ industrial rope access experience
- Experience in industrial maintenance, shutdowns, mining, petrochemical or heavy industrial environments
- Good understanding of rope access techniques, rescue procedures and equipment inspections
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Valid South African ID
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rope access activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Install, inspect and maintain rope access systems.
- Support Level 3 personnel in planning and executing rope access work.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of rope access equipment.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety meetings.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all SHE requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents and equipment defects.
Preferred Experience
Applicants with experience in the following will have an added advantage:
- Industrial shutdowns
- Heavy industrial cleaning
- Boiler and turbine maintenance
- Confined space work
- Industrial maintenance projects
