As a Sales Manager, your primary responsibility will be to identify, develop, and manage a robust client base for a luxury private game reserve in Limpopo. This will include working with tour operators, travel agents, DMCs, and other potential partners to increase revenue and market share. You will also be responsible for cross-selling other properties within the company's portfolio to maximize business opportunities and enhance revenue streams.
Business Development:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including tour operators, travel agents, and DMCs.
Conduct client visits to promote and sell the private game reserve.
Perform in-depth research to understand each client's business model, key stakeholders, decision-makers, and procurement processes.
Create and implement a Sales Plan aimed at increasing revenue for the private game reserve, aligned with the overall sales and marketing objectives.
Manage the full sales cycle, from initial cold calling to closing deals.
Monitor tender databases and complete RFPs for corporate clients and conference opportunities.
Handle contract negotiations and renewals with clients.
Effectively cross-sell other properties within the portfolio to boost revenue and market share.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the service offering.
Account Management:
Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s requirements to retain and grow business.
Ensure timely renewal of contracts with existing clients.
Organize and host site inspections, presentations, training sessions, and familiarization (FAM) trips as needed.
Oversee contract implementation and administration.
Participate in relevant trade shows to promote the property and build client relationships.
Collaborate with all stakeholders in an integrated manner to drive success.
Administration:
Utilize CRM tools and filing systems to manage client information and expand the client database.
Maintain and update all database and contact lists for both Operations and Marketing departments.
Prepare detailed reports on competitors, market trends, and sales activities for the property and review results on a monthly basis.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
A recognized sales qualification or 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong strategic, analytical, and data-driven approach to sales.
Proven experience working with tour operators, DMCs, and event planners.
Excellent computer literacy, particularly in MS Office programs; proficiency in Opera is advantageous.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver impactful presentations.
Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines consistently.
Efficient in time management and able to work independently without supervision.
Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve departmental and service goals.
Solid understanding of budgeting and the ability to work within defined budgets.
