THE JOB AT A GLANCE
As the Procurement Specialist, you will be reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of procurement and strategic sourcing and managing both internal and external relationships.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Provide specialist knowledge and educate business units regarding standard procurement policies
- Maintain a database of pricing, products and network capabilities of our current and new vendors as well as pricing promotions, changes and trends are
- Analyze and source business from appropriate vendors to ensure the best cost-effective solution
- Actively engage with vendors in product discussions and pricing negotiations
- Maintain pricing and vendor documentation in pricing data folder
- Provide informed input to business on the number of suppliers / contracts, expiry dates as well as market analysis on products and suppliers as part of the strategic sourcing and procurement function
Stakeholder relationship management:
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationships
- Effectively manage the tactical and strategic relationships with vendors
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- Bachelor’s degree in (Supply Chain / Logistics/Procurement)
- CIPS beneficial
- 5 years' supply chain management experience within procurement
- Business acumen and financial management experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of B-BEE legislation
- Extensive knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing, best practice and techniques
- Good typing skills
- Knowledge of contracts and contractual term
- Database Management
