JOB TITLE: BRANCH MANAGER
LOCATION: Securitas -Johannesburg
REPORTS TO: General Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the operation of all facets of the Branch in such a manner that it will achieve the set objectives, ensure profitability, whilst meeting the clients' expectations regarding the quality of service and operational personnel matters. The Branch Manager needs to be self-motivated, a leader and a team player at the same time, whose performance, enthusiasm, and dedication to the company provides an example for all to follow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operations
- Optimise all resources and continuously reviewing operations to improve profitability
- Ensure a cost- effective quality security service to the various clients
- Monitor wage costs for any variances
- Manage client invoicing/ payments
- Ensure all assets are registered in the Asset Register
- Provide direct management of Securitas operations in the area
- Ensure site procedures meet the relevant client requirements
- Ensure client service and procedural standards are met
- Ensure positive client relationships are developed and maintained
- Conduct site visits and client meetings as agreed
- Manage all aspects of Client Care
- Address serious client complaints
- Continual evaluation of the operation to identify areas for improved efficiency.
P&L:
- Check that all expenditures are within the budget
- Conduct financial audits to minimize cost and expenditures as per the budget
- Ensure quotations and tenders are accurate and submitted in time
- Optimise all resources and continuously reviewing operations to improve profitability
- Ensure a cost-effective quality security service to the various clients
- Monitor wage costs for any variances
- Manage client invoicing/ payments
- Conduct financial audits to minimize cost and expenditures as per the budget
- Positively contribute to the growth of the branch through a commercial mindset.
- Drive transformation through increased manpower and/or technology offering to improve revenue and gross margins.
- Ensure effective Client retention to prevent loss of revenue and profit.
Personnel
- Recruit and retain sufficient security personnel to meet contracted requirements and supporting relief personnel.
- Ensure security personnel are trained to Securitas standards, including required Values and Ethics and Insider Threat, basic security officer duties, and the client’s requirements and post orders.
- Training will consist of both initial training and recurring sustainment training.
- Supervise and Manage personnel to ensure operations are consistent with contracted requirements and Securitas standards
- Ensure effective management of disciplinary matters and general discipline in the Branch.
Risk Assessments
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements where necessary
- Conduct investigations and crime scene management
- Monitor performance of direct reports and take corrective action where necessary
- Conduct regular checks with regard to all parts of the business including the client's premises, sites , vehicles and equipment
- Ensure quality assurance audits are conducted as required according to quality manual
- Identify risk exposures regarding stock shrinkage, physical security as well as fire risk and safety standards
- Participate in monthly Improvement Districts meetings
- Compiling of festive season plans for improvement Districts and other clients on request
- Drafting of social crime prevention programs for clients on request
- Identify commercial opportunities through risk management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Matric / Grade 12
- Degree/Diploma in Management/Security Management
- PSIRA Grade A, registered and graded
- Valid driver’s licence, with own vehicle
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a security environment specifically related to the management of manpower.
- Demonstrated leadership experience of at least 5 years in a similar role.
- Experience in management of Technology related services, advantageous
- Strong administration skills essential
- High proficiency in MS Office
