Job description:
- Fabricate, assemble, and erect structural steel and aluminium components for truck trailers.
- Perform structural repairs and refurbishments on damaged or worn truck trailers..
- Lay out, cut, fit, and weld metal components to precise specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, press brakes, plasma cutters, and welding machinesInspect finished work for dimensional accuracy, weld integrity, and surface quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment at all times.
- Work alongside welders, fitters, and other tradespeople to meet production deadlines.Requirements
- Red Seal Certification (Boilermaker Trade Certificate) — required
Experience with heavy-duty trailer frames, subframes, and chassis components
- Demonstrated experience in truck trailer manufacturing and/or repair.
- Proficient in welding aluminium using MIG and/or TIG processes.
- Strong structural fabrication and fitting skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Sound knowledge of metal properties, heat distortion, and joint preparation.
- Committed to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or within a team.
