Our client, a prestigious wine estate in Stellenbosch, is seeking a highly organized and creative Events Manager to lead their events department. The successful candidate will oversee the planning and execution of high-end events such as weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, and exclusive farm activations. Description:
As the Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all events at the estate are flawlessly executed, from conception to completion. You will lead a dedicated team of four event professionals, working collaboratively to deliver exceptional experiences for clients. Events will range from intimate vineyard activations to large-scale conferences and gala dinners, all reflecting the estate's luxury standards.
You will be responsible for client relationship management, budget oversight, event logistics, and vendor coordination. The ability to maintain high-quality service, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay within budget will be essential for success. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of creative vision and operational excellence, ensuring the estate’s events continue to exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of event coordinators, fostering a high-performance culture.

Event Planning: Oversee all aspects of event planning, including concept development, timelines, logistics, décor, seating arrangements, and guest flow.

Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication from initial briefing to post-event feedback.

Vendor Coordination: Work with external vendors (photographers, florists, AV specialists) to ensure seamless event execution.

Budget Management: Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability without compromising on quality.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with the F&B, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure all event needs are met.

Brand Integration: Work with the marketing team to ensure events align with the estate's brand and heritage, incorporating unique offerings like vineyard tours and wine tastings.
Requirements:

3–5 years of experience in event management, ideally in a luxury hospitality or wine estate setting.

Proven experience leading and motivating a team of event professionals.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on client satisfaction.
