VPUU NPC is a Public Benefit Organisation that implements multisectoral integrated area based upgrading programmes of neighbourhoods in townships and informal settlements. We do this in partnership with communities, municipalities, provincial and national government.

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Up to R35 000.00 (Cost to Company) depending on experience

Job Purpose:
The HR Officer will work closely with all the Areas of Expertise to ensure support, advice and the administrative functions related to human capital is met accurately and timeously.
Key Performance Areas:
- Managing of the HR Team
- Manage project as per Project plan and schedule and report on progress
- Advise line managers regarding disciplinary, incapacity and poor work performance process
- Manage Employee wellness programs which include counselling and absenteeism management
- Ensure proper development and empowerment of HR team through on job training and the use of Personal Development Plans
- Coordinate and participate in monthly HR meetings at area level
- Manage and drive recruitment, selection and exit process
- Co-ordinating the new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programmes
- Support the payroll function through the provision of relevant information related to engagements, terminations, changes to programs and other critical HR operational aspects.
- Provide guidance on organization effectiveness and conflict resolution
Requirements:
- Degree/ Diploma in Human Resource Management
- Minimum of 7 years working experience as a HR Officer
- Minimum 5 years Team Leadership experience
- Ability to build strong working relationship across all levels of the organization
- Good understanding of the HR systems
- Knowledge of legislation governing HR practices and processes (BCEA/LRA)
- Strong Planning, organisation and administration skills+
- Ability to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurized environment.
- Working independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent problem solving, planning and organizing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Able to deal effectively with all levels of staff including senior management
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills with a desire to follow procedures
- Confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and discretion essential when dealing with people
- Extensive working knowledge in MS Office in all MS office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
- Effective report writing skills
- Effective oral/written communication skills in at least 2 of the following languages: English, isiXhosa,Afrikaans
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, interpersonal skills, telephone and email etiquette
- Valid driver’s licence
