The Audio Visual Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in CAPE TOWN, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of AV services for events, exhibitions, and installations. This role manages day-to-day operations, including scheduling and supervising AV technicians, allocating equipment and resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Audio Visual Operations Manager collaborates with sales and project teams to interpret client requirements, develop technical plans, and provide expert guidance on AV solutions. Daily tasks include maintaining equipment inventories, enforcing safety and quality standards, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing workflows for efficient, reliable service. The role also involves vendor coordination, performance reporting, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
Qualifications
- Strong audio visual operations experience, including managing AV setups for events, exhibitions, and corporate environments.
- Proficiency with common AV technologies and systems (e.g., sound reinforcement, video projection, LED displays, lighting control, signal routing).
- Experience leading technical teams, including workload planning, task delegation, coaching, and performance management.
- Project coordination skills, with the ability to plan timelines, manage budgets, and deliver multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, including diagnosing and resolving on-site technical issues under time pressure.
- Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to interpret requirements and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Solid organizational and administrative skills, including documentation, inventory management, and process tracking.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices related to events, staging, rigging, and equipment handling.
- Relevant qualification or certification in audio visual technology, event production, or a related field is advantageous.
- Previous experience in the events, exhibitions, or experiential marketing industryor similar markets is beneficial
Pay: R25 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month
