Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC and Refrigeration Specialist to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including chillers, split units, rooftop units, cold rooms, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related faults using appropriate testing tools and equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or repairs to improve energy efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and inventory of parts and tools.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely on-site technical support.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC and Refrigeration Technician/Specialist.
- Relevant trade certification or qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, compressors, electrical systems, and fault-finding techniques.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, multimeters, and recovery equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites when required.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift equipment, work at heights, and operate in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA or equivalent refrigerant handling certification.
- Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems.
