Job Description: Software Engineer
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity in developing CAD software for the Civil Engineering market with international exposure? Then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. You will be working as part of an agile team of highly skilled professionals and given the responsibility to develop new features and enhancements in C++, using Microsoft Visual Studio according to the SCRUM methodology. You will gain experience in the entire software life cycle, from design and development, to documentation, testing and maintenance. Work hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 with flexi-time options if you want to miss the traffic.
Education:
1. Required: BSc Computer science, or a BEng with strong mathematics focus
2. Beneficial: Civil Engineering education
Skills / experience:
1. Required: Proficient in C++
2. Required: A sound understanding of the data structures and algorithms used to solve complex problems.
3. Beneficial: experience with MFC in the Visual Studio environment
4. Beneficial: Knowledge of CAD systems and Civil Infrastructure design software
5. Beneficial: Any experience with civil infrastructures
Responsibilities:
1. Work as part of a software development SCRUM team.
2. Develop software solutions according to the SCRUM methodology:
a. Studying system requirements
b. Do research to find the best possible solution
c. Design the solutions
d. Code and test the solution
e. Do documentation.
3. Software maintenance: Lease with the support team via Zoho assisting them in responding to quarries and fixing defects.
4. Keep abreast of the latest development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment and best practices.
5. Keep up to date with the latest Civil Engineering Industry trends.
Pay: R45 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
