Position Overview:
We have an opportunity for a Technical Engineer (NOC) to join our Security & Networks team in Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
Working within our Managed Services team you will assume the function of a remote IT systems administrator for a wide range of clients who have outsourced their IT support to Advania UK. This includes

Monitoring and management of client’s infrastructure and backups, including routers, firewalls, servers, and device endpoints to ensure issues are handled proactively with minimal impact on the client
- Resolving issues efficiently, identifying, and correcting trends is a key part of the role.
- Taking ownership and performing prompt and effective incident investigation applying sound problem solving methods to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact across a wide range of IT systems
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve network and security tasks and vulnerability compliance
Qualifications & Experience:
For this role, the right candidate will have:

Strong Microsoft Windows server knowledge shown in incident troubleshooting
- Good technical ability and self-awareness of when to escalate to a senior resource
- Comfortable navigation within customer Azure tenancies
- Good working evidence across the following infrastructure platforms:
- Microsoft Servers 2012 – 2019
- Cloud – O365, Azure, AWS, Mimecast
- RMM and Professional Monitoring toolsets
- Communication Platforms Teams/Skype
- Backup solutions – Veeam, DPM, Azure Site Recovery, Backup Exec
- Basic knowledge and understanding across one or more of the following technology stacks:
- Firewalls: Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto
- Switching: Cisco, HP, Juniper, Meraki
- WAN/LAN networking related issues: TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, VPN

Please note that this role also involves a 4 day on / 4 day off shift pattern. Night shifts can be worked from home.
A shift allowance is offered in addition to base salary - Up to 30% depending on the shift allocation.
