BUTLER, GENERAL WORKER & DRIVER POSITION
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Valid work permit to work in RSA

Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year’s driving experience.

Home location, to be near reliable public transportation to get and from Clifton.
JOB DESCRIPTION
-
Normal workday starts 07h30 and finishes at 17h30. Transport cannot be a problem to and from work. Candidates cannot be late for work.
-
Annual leave 15 working days per year, including weekends is 3 weeks.
-
Annual discretionary bonus and inflationary salary increase, based on work performance throughout the year.

3 month probation and permanent contract offered after completion of probation.

Hospitality skills: table service for guests. i.e. Setting the table, offering beverages, taking food to the table & clearing plates from the table correctly. Opening wine bottles and Champagne correctly.

Hospitality skills: Taking care of guests for pool service i.e. stocking up sunscreen baskets, rolling swim towels, stocking up bar, offering guests cocktails & or other beverages and snacks, clearing away used towels, cutlery & crockery.

Hospitality skills: understanding that the Primary client, his family & guests are first priority and taking care of their needs to make the household run smoothly. Understanding to respect the client and his family’s privacy, confidentiality and discretion are key skills to have for this role.

Driving for food shopping and other errands, occasionally taking client’s girlfriend’s kids to do a school run in the morning, and or to a friend’s house.

Keeping all work receipts and make use of a work card.

Taking care of the work phone & being available on your work phone at all times, (using it for work purposes only).

Cleaning the gym

Cleaning the cars & refueling cars

Cleaning windows

Cleaning the elevator

Cleaning outside areas – furniture, bar areas, mini bar stocked up and clean, pool, cleaning stainless steel railings, covering outside furniture when raining, bring in outside items if very windy.

Basic gardening (there is a gardening company service weekly).

Taking care of the dogs is very important – walking 2x day, feeding dogs in afternoon, picking up dog poops outside.

Receiving food deliveries, rotating stock & unpacking neatly in the storeroom.

Receiving guest luggage and taking it to their rooms

Very occasionally, helping out with housekeeping, if necessary. If someone is off sick – for example with making up beds and cleaning bathrooms.
