Facility Oversight: Conduct routine inspections and maintain hygiene, security, operational standards, and fire protection systems.
Personnel Management: Supervise and recruit teams for cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, and security.
Compliance and Contract Management: Oversee service compliance, manage the budget, procure vendor quotations, review supplier contracts, and negotiate service level agreements.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, including facility and infrastructure drawings. Collaborate with architects to update schematics as needed.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
Departmental Stores Management and Procurement Oversight: Manage store operations and oversee procurement processes for efficiency and standard adherence.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes, including project management and task delegation.
Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management with a focus on compliance, personnel management, and budget control.
BAdmin or BCom degree is desirable
Fire Protection Systems: o NFPA Standards: Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, such as:
NFPA 1: Fire Code NFPA 25: Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code o Local Fire Safety Regulations: Familiarity with South African fire safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Security Systems: o SANS Standards: Understanding of South African National Standards (SANS) for security systems, including SANS 10222 series on electrical security systems. o CCTV and Access Control: Knowledge of best practices for the installation, maintenance, and management of CCTV and access control systems. o Perimeter Security: Experience with perimeter security measures, including electric fencing and intrusion detection systems.
General Facility Management: o ISO 41001: Familiarity with ISO standards for Facility Management Systems (ISO 41001). o Health and Safety Regulations: Comprehensive understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations relevant to facilities management in South Africa.
Additional Relevant Standards: o Environmental Management: Knowledge of ISO 14001 for environmental management systems. o Waste Management Best Practices: Understanding best practices for waste management, including segregation, recycling, and disposal methods
