Job Description
To conduct research studies of existing and potential investments in specified areas (medium to large cap) and to develop and distribute investment insights and recommendations to inform client investment decisions.
Essential Function
Develop a sector coverage and product strategy to effect, establish and grow a leading research franchise. Establish broad investor themes that run through the sub-sectors and ensure commonality in valuation approaches.
Establish guidelines, processes and culture to optimise monetisation of research products and investment ideas. Provide cost effective delivery of research product and research franchise to optimise monetisation for the sector.
Lead the pro-active marketing on new notes products and investment ideas to domestic and offshore based global investors.
Manage the effective achievement of identified objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximise performance. Provide on the job guidance to team members through mentoring and coaching in order to upskill them on processes, standards, procedures, products and sector specific knowledge.
Oversee coverage of relevant commercial stocks in the allocated / targeted sectors and companies to maintain up-to-date market data, knowledge of current events and to identify key developments.
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the research department, ensuring accuracy of work and that research content is marketable and actionable.
Oversee the development of commercial and differentiated research reports / publications, and monitor the process of analysis and recommendations to ensure consistent quality deliverables.
Oversee the distribution of research product / commercial ideas to counterparts in Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) e.g. ECM, M&A and Coverage and broader corporate finance functions to generate leads.
Oversee the organising of conferencing and corporate access calendars in order to provide corporate access to link executives of corporations and other decision- and opinion-makers to investment managers.
Plan, direct and present analysis to demonstrate and enhance the value of CIB Equity Research ideas to existing and prospective clients.
Provide thought leadership by looking at the type of topics and potential on how an sector should consolidate to ensure understanding and to proactively respond to evolving client needs. Provide investor education on ad-hoc and project basis, within compliance requirements. Represent house views on the particular sector trends and developments in the media.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills with seasoned / strong financial modelling and analysis skills

Equity analyst experience require
Deep experience in coverage and management roles across the buy-side or sell-side.

Experience preparing presentation quality documents and executive level summaries.
1-3 years
Strong research background across all disciplines: Fundamental, Technical and Quantitative with prior research experience with global equities preferred
