Electrician at Ascension Island
Place of Performance is on the US Space Force Base on Ascension Island, Ascension Auxiliary Airfield. We provide all lodging, food, and travel.

Job Description:
Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as respond to emergencies or critical work, installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
Qualifications:
- High Voltage/Low Voltage
- Climbing certification for any systems that require climbing.
- Place of performance is the USSF Base on Ascension Island.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
- Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment,
- Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired Electrical Certificate.
- Implement Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) maintenance, inspection, and utilization program that includes repair, distribution and replacement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety (Personal Protection) Requirements:
May require hard hat, safety goggles, safety shoes, ear protection, Hard toed safety shoes or boots, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, etc. (as required by task)
Salary Range:
$12K-$20K yearly BOE ($ or £)
Other Duties:
- US Citizenship is not required.
- Excellent oral and communication skills in English are required.
- Must be able to pass a background screening and provide an acceptable vetting (police) certificate.
- Must be able to pass annual physical fitness exam in accordance with your position.
- Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel in a diverse, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.
- This position is located on the remote island of Ascension with no family accommodations available.
