This job position is a two-part focus, with the primary role being the Professional Services Manager and the secondary role being a Solution Architect.
Withing the professional service manager role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of IT projects to our clients, including technical discovery, design, and implementation. You will lead a team ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As a complement to the professional services team, the secondary role of a Solution Architect will be responsible for translating client business requirements into comprehensive IT solutions that address their needs and objectives. You will work with clients and the internal sales team to craft IT solutions and design supporting projects.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of professional services technical and coordination staff, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise as needed. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Project Management: Oversee and lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, Microsoft cloud migrations, and network improvements.
Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals, challenges, and technology needs. Align those needs to IT solutions and provide a series of project recommendations.
Solution Design: Develop IT solution designs that align with client objectives and our standardized technical stack. Evaluate technology options, including hardware, software, cloud services, and third-party solutions, to recommend optimal solutions. Define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks proactively.
Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of IT technologies and trends, including Microsoft cloud solutions, general networking, traditional on-premises infrastructure, cybersecurity, and common business applications. Provide technical guidance and support to the team, resolving complex technical issues and challenges as they arise.
Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and deadlines. Manage workload distribution, staffing levels, and resource utilization to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the professional services department. Implement best practices and standard methodologies to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a technical leadership role within an MSP or IT services organization.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex IT projects from initiation to completion.
- Deep technical expertise across a range of IT technologies, including both traditional and cloud-based Microsoft solutions, networking, infrastructure, and security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and team members.
- Strong leadership qualities, including decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, CCNA, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent are a plus.
