POSITION: General Manager: Production ( EXCO Team Member)

Pepkor Installation is a Pepkor business in the Strategic Support structure of the GroupAn exciting Exco Leadership opportunity has become available in the Pepkor Installations business. We are looking for an individual who can head up the production team.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To manage the Production function by ensuring maximum production at minimal cost and downtime in order to produce top quality products within the minimal timeframe. To oversee the Research & Development function in order to ensure innovation in the products produced. Provide leadership and support to team and senior management for optimal business decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide input into business strategy
- Build and improve Production Strategy
- Implement, maintain and optimise business processes
- Lead, develop and manage senior leadership production team
- Lead production department ( Wood, Steel, Assembly, R&D, Raw Material Stores & CAD Office)
- Lead Research & Development for proper design implementation of client needs
- Lead production planning
- Keep up to date with manufacturing / production standards to ensure constant improvements
- Manage client relationships by working closely with sales support and customers
- Ensure OHASA compliance within in the production department
- Compile, update and maintain relevant reporting and administration
- Effectively manage departmental budget
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Production / Industrial Engineering will be advantageous
- Minimum 8 - 10 years experience in Manufacturing (Wood & Steel) environment (of which at least 3 years’ on senior management level)
- Auto CAD experience
- Retail experience will be advantageous
- Project Management advantageous
- Cross functional management skills
- Understanding of the business, industry and economic environment and relevant role-players
- Computer literacy: Advanced level
