Job Requirements: The ideal applicant will possess the following: - Grade 12 or equivalent academic qualification. Tertiary qualification preferably in Human Resources, Employee Benefits or Retirement Funds Management. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Employee Benefits administration. At least a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role will be regarded as an added advantage. Proven experience across retirement funds, medical aid, estates, disability, COID, Occupational Health and insured benefits administration. Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation (Pension Funds Act, Medical Schemes Act, COIDA, POPI, LRA and benefits best practices). Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced level). Valid Code 08 drivers’ license. Strong administrative, financial & recon knowledge and background is essential. Proficiency in multiple African languages, culture, traditions and beliefs. Sound knowledge of Medical Aid Governance and legislation. Sound knowledge of Retirement Funds and the relevant legislation. Sound knowledge of death distribution as per Section 37c of the Pensions Fund Act. Knowledge of the Legal Framework. Knowledge of the insured benefit policies, procedures, practices and the governing Acts. Excellent Computer skills (MS Office). Good accounting skills. Good analytical skills. Job Outputs: End-to-end management of contributions, reconciliations, claims (withdrawals, retirements, deaths), fund and trustee coordination, and member communication initiatives. End-to-end monitoring and supervision of medical aid, gap cover, funeral benefits, disability, COID, and 24-hour accident cover processes and administration, including billing, reconciliations, and claims management ensuring compliance, accurate payments, and timely finalisation of claims. Ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation (e.g., Pension Funds Act, Medical Schemes Act, COID, POPI, LRA), policies, and internal controls. Managing relationships with fund administrators, insurers, medical schemes, and internal business units. Managing workflows, monitoring SLA adherence, resolving escalated queries, and ensuring quality assurance across all benefits processes. Comply with relevant SLA’s, turnaround times, processes and legislation. Compilation of management reports, trend analysis, and provision of insights to support decision-making. Assisting in the preparation and management of the departmental budget and overseeing financial reconciliations. Supervising and developing Personnel Officers, driving performance, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery. · Supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement within the Benefits function. Development and maintenance and training of Benefits internal workflows and processes. Ensure all deadlines are met according to year plan and legal prescriptions, at agreed set dates, standards and levels of accuracy. Supporting the Benefits Manager with process improvements, benefit reviews, re-broking exercises, and departmental initiatives.
