Work alongside the Head Chef to ensure consistency in food preparation, quality, and display
Conduct training with the kitchen team on menu items, specials and Urban Umami required standards
Delegate tasks equally to ensure efficient operations
Liaise with the Head Chef and inform the kitchen team of upcoming bookings, events, and special requests, and plan accordingly
Assist with monthly stock take
Address any issues relating to food quality, staff performance or guest complaints, when required
Compile weekly kitchen rosters
Assist with inventory control and ordering of stock
Report any damages and/or defective kitchen equipment
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and food hygiene standards
Assist with capturing monthly departmental payroll
Review and assist with menu preparation, when required
Build and maintain ongoing relationships with suppliers and/or business partners
Communicate with the front of house staff, at regular intervals, to ensure seamless service creating memorable guest experiences
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification
Min 3 years experience in a similar role
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Excellent communication skills
Flexible and cooperative
Work well under pressure
