The Telesales Agent is responsible for reaching out to potential and existing customers via phone and digital communication channels to promote products/services, qualify prospective leads, and generate sales conversions. The primary objective is to drive revenue growth while delivering professional, high-quality customer engagement.
Initiate outbound calls to prospective clients using provided databases or lead lists.
Answer inbound customer inquiries regarding product specifications, pricing, and active promotions.
Present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
Upsell and cross-sell relevant add-ons or secondary offerings where appropriate.
Qualify leads based on specified target criteria before escalating or closing sales.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and follow up promptly on leads, callbacks, and inquiries.
Identify customer needs, answer questions, and handle objections constructively to secure commitments.
Accurately record customer details, contact history, and call outcomes in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Track daily sales metrics, completed calls, and closed deals against individual performance targets.
Ensure data compliance and confidentiality standards are maintained at all times.
Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including daily call volume, talk time, lead conversion rates, and monthly revenue targets.
Participate in regular team meetings, sales coaching, and product training sessions to enhance sales techniques.
Education: Grade 12 / High School Diploma required. A diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in telesales, outbound call centers, or telemarketing roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho) and telephone/dialer systems.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace applications.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong active listening abilities.
Persuasion & Negotiation: Ability to articulate product value clearly, address objections, and close sales effectively.
Resilience: Self-motivated with high stamina and ability to remain positive in the face of rejection or repetitive tasks.
Time Management: Organized with strong multi-tasking skills to handle high call volumes and admin duties efficiently.
