PIRB Registered Plumber – Residential & Commercial COC Inspections
About the Company
We are a well-established and growing electrical contracting business based in Hout Bay, Cape Town, with a dedicated Plumbing Compliance Division specialising in Plumbing Certificates of Compliance (COCs), inspections, remedial works, maintenance, and regulatory compliance services.
We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and motivated Certified Plumber to join our team and assist with plumbing inspections, issuing COCs, fault identification, and remedial works required to ensure compliance with applicable South African plumbing standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Plumbing Certificate of Compliance (COC) inspections at residential and commercial properties.
- Identify non-compliant plumbing installations and defects.
- Prepare inspection reports detailing findings and corrective actions required.
- Carry out remedial plumbing work to bring installations into compliance.
- Install, repair, maintain and replace plumbing systems and components.
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing faults efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with:
- SANS 10252
- SANS 10254
- Applicable municipal bylaws
- PIRB requirements
- Issue and manage Plumbing COCs where authorised.
- Liaise professionally with clients, tenants, property managers and/or contractors.
- Maintain accurate job records, photographs, reports and documentation.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Participate in standby, call-out and emergency response work when required.
- Uphold the company's standards of workmanship, professionalism and customer service.
Minimum Requirements (Essential)
- Qualified Trade Tested Plumber.
- Valid PIRB Registration (proof required).
- Valid South African Driver's Licence.
- Minimum 3 years' plumbing experience post-qualification.
- Sound knowledge of plumbing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to identify compliance failures and recommend corrective measures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals are welcome to apply; however:
- A valid South African work permit, visa or other lawful authorisation permitting employment in South Africa is essential.
- Documentary proof of legal work status must be provided prior to employment.

- Experience conducting Plumbing COC inspections.

- Backflow prevention certification.
- Solar geyser and heat pump experience.
- Leak detection experience.
- Knowledge of compliance reporting software and mobile inspection applications.
