We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager based in Durban to lead our sales team, expand our customer base, and drive growth both locally and into cross-border markets.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing sales representatives across multiple regions, while actively developing new business opportunities, opening key accounts, and identifying growth niches in the hardware and DIY sector.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Manage and oversee sales representatives operating across multiple regions
- Motivate, mentor and develop the sales team to achieve targets
- Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs and performance objectives
Business Development
- Identify and develop new market opportunities
- Open new key accounts and strategic customers
- Expand the company’s footprint in both local and cross-border markets
- Build long-term partnerships with major customers
Sales Growth & Performance
- Drive national sales growth
- Achieve both team targets and personal sales targets
- Monitor sales performance across regions and implement growth strategies
- Identify new sales niches and market opportunities
Customer Relationship Management
- Engage regularly with customers to strengthen relationships
- Resolve key customer issues and ensure high service levels
- Develop strong partnerships with major accounts
Reporting & Analysis
- Analyse customer buying patterns and sales trends
- Identify opportunities to increase customer spend
- Prepare regular sales performance reports and strategic insights for the CEO
- Track regional and product performance
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales management or senior sales roles
- Experience in hardware, DIY, building materials, or related industries is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and grow sales
- Strong business development and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities
- Based in Durban
- Proficient in Microsoft and Excel
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R25 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
