We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager (Team Leader) to lead multidisciplinary teams on wastewater treatment infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall project leadership, planning, execution, stakeholder management, quality assurance, and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
- Minimum 12 years' post-professional registration experience as a Project Manager.
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in wastewater treatment plant projects, including planning, design coordination, construction, commissioning, and project close-out.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of South African construction contracts, procurement processes, and project governance.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage wastewater treatment plant projects from Stage 5 to Close Out.
- Provide strategic project leadership and direction to multidisciplinary professional teams.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, client representatives, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Chair project meetings and prepare progress reports for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and resolve project-related challenges proactively.
- Oversee project commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
- Mentor and support junior project management personnel where applicable.
