About the Role
MyTalent Software is looking for a motivated and ambitious Junior Developer (Grad / Junior) to join our growing development team.
This role is ideal for someone who is early in their development career but has a strong foundation in modern web technologies, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow within a fast-moving SaaS software business.
The successful candidate will assist with building, improving and maintaining the MyTalent platform, including CRM functionality, recruitment tools, AI-powered features, dashboards, integrations, automation workflows and internal business systems.
You will work closely with the development team, operations team and business stakeholders to turn requirements into clean, reliable and user-friendly software.
Key Responsibilities
The Junior Developer will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the development of frontend and backend features.
- Building and maintaining responsive user interfaces.
- Working with APIs, databases and third-party integrations.
- Supporting bug fixes, testing and platform improvements.
- Writing clean, structured and maintainable code.
- Assisting with database queries, data updates and reporting logic.
- Supporting the development of dashboards, CRM modules and workflow tools.
- Helping improve user experience across the platform.
- Participating in code reviews, testing and deployment preparation.
- Investigating technical issues and assisting with resolutions.
- Working with the team to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
- Documenting technical changes where required.
- Continuously learning and improving technical skills.
Required Skills and Experience
This role is ideal for a Graduate or Junior Developer (0–2 years experience) who is eager to grow in a full-stack environment.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A strong personal/project portfolio (e.g. GitHub, university, or self-initiated projects).
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Basic understanding of backend development using Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve basic technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to write clean, maintainable code.
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and continuously improve.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.

Required Skills and Experience
This role is ideal for a Graduate or Junior Developer (0–2 years experience) who is eager to grow in a full-stack environment.
The ideal candidate should have:
- 0–2 years’ commercial development experience, or a strong personal/project portfolio (e.g. GitHub, university, or self-initiated projects).
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Exposure to React or another modern frontend framework.
- Basic understanding of backend development using Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and how they are used in web applications.
- Basic knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Understanding of Git / version control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve basic technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to write clean, maintainable code.
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and continuously improve.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.

Reporting Line
The Junior Developer will report to the Development Manager designated by the Company.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, during normal business hours, unless otherwise agreed by the Company.
Pay: R12 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
