Role Purpose
To provide effective oversight and execution of middle office financial reporting and control activities, including profit and loss calculations, portfolio and statutory reporting, IFRS disclosures, and product control functions, while ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and continuous process optimisation within the Balance Sheet Management environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

B.com Accounting Degree or equivalent (Accounting 3 at final year-essential)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
KNOWLEDGE:

Understanding of SQL (SQL Server 2014, SSIS), Microsoft Power Apps (Power Flow, Power BI, Power Query) and Visual Basic advantageous

Advanced Excel skills, including understanding macros.

Experience in working with large amounts of data

Sound knowledge and understanding of financial reporting, including External Audit facilitation and clearance of a fixed income trading desk

Duties & Responsibilities
The role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely Middle Office financial and investment reporting in support of statutory, management, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will contribute to maintaining a well-controlled operating environment through sound investment accounting, product control, data integrity, and stakeholder engagement, while supporting continuous improvement and automation initiatives aligned to Momentum Group governance and performance standards.

Execute and maintain Middle Office financial and investment reporting deliverables in line with approved Group policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements

Perform end-to-end investment accounting for fixed income and derivative portfolios, including general ledger postings, reconciliations, profit and loss reporting, and portfolio accounting outputs

Deliver compliant IFRS reporting (including IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 disclosures) to support statutory, management, and prudential reporting requirements

Analyse balance sheet and income statement movements and provide structured variance analysis and clear commentary to support management oversight and decision-making

Perform product control activities for trades and instruments processed on the Murex trading platform, ensuring accuracy of trade capture, valuation, and downstream reporting

Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and completeness through effective data management, validation, and reconciliation processes

Build and sustain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Group Reporting, Corporate Actuarial, Front Office, Back Office, and Tax teams

Resolve stakeholder queries accurately and within agreed service levels, providing clear, concise, and value-adding insights
