The role of the Receptionist at Planet Fitness Silver Lakes is a very important one.
We are looking for young, energetic individuals to join our team.
The Reception at Planet Fitness forms the core of the facility, a place where members can raise queries or concerns and an information hub for non-members. The reception is always 'on show' and therefore, needs to operate at the highest of standards.

Your duties will include (but is not limited to):
- Greeting of members and non-members as they enter our facilities.
- Providing information to members/non-members regarding our facilities.
- Ensuring that our members have smooth access to our facilities, and assisting with related queries to ensure smooth access.
- Dealing with conflict situations that may arise due to access problems.
- Reporting all relevant information to Senior Receptionist and/or Reception Manager.
- Counting of stock, performing 'cash-up' duties (non-cash facility).
- Opening and closing of facilities with Manager On Duty (MOD), depending on scheduled shift.
- Directing prospective members to our Membership Advisers.
- Answering telephone as per company verbiage and assisting or transferring caller as required.
- Ensuring that Reception is always set up and running as per company standard.
- Ensuring the lounge/welcome area is neatly aligned and ready to welcome members and non-members.
- Logging and following up on all membership queries and providing members with relevant feedback.
- Confirming instructors for relevant shift to give classes as per monthly schedule
- Attending weekly meetings/training sessions to improve skills.
The reception team works shifts that are as follows:
Mondays to Thursdays:
Opening shift: 4h30 to 12h30 (with 1 hour lunch)
Closing shift: 12h30 to 21h00 (with 1 hour lunch)
Fridays:
Opening shift: 4h30 to 12h00 (with 1 hour lunch)
Closing shift: 12h00 to 20h00 (with 1 hour lunch)
Weekend shifts and Public Holidays are rotated between team members. You will be required to work at least one weekend per month.
Saturdays:
6h30 to 18h00 (with 1 hour lunch); breaks given at MOD's discretion.
Sundays:
6h30 to 16h00 (with 1 hour lunch); breaks given at MOD's discretion.
Public Holidays:
6h30 to 18h00 (with 1 hour lunch); breaks given at MOD's discretion.
Minimum requirements:
- At least have 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office, such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Must have Matric Certificate.
- Must be fluent in both English and Afrikaans (preferable).
