We are looking to hire a highly-skilled chef to prepare dishes in accordance with food health and safety regulations and restaurant standards. The successful candidate will be required to perform all duties required of a head chef ie. prepare dishes, Set up, stock control, and maintain kitchen and work stations, managing a pass and ensuring all aspects of the kitchen are running correctly. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum Requirements
- Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, meat and fish used to prepare dishes
- Preparing various types of dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
- Manufacturing and portioning to be monitored and entered correctly to ensure good stock control.
- Coaching and training of staff to ensure correct spec is always maintained.
- All health and safety procedures are followed correctly.
- All HR issues are addressed and all the relevant procedures documented correctly.
- Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination.
- Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products.
- Reporting any problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty.
- Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in preparation before every use.
- Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.
