The candidate, if successful for this position will oversee, run and manage the jobs and staff of the main kitchen that serves the restaurant and clubhouse take away catering as well as the Kiosk kitchen serving take aways. He/she will be responsible for the smooth running of all off site catering jobs as well.
The candidate will need to implement and run new systems to guarantee smooth operation of all jobs and both kitchens to run successfully as well as health and safety requirements.
Must have their own transport (this is very important and please lets not start and then a week or two in this is already an issue)
All other standard kitchen management rolls and responsibilities apply.
5+ years kitchen management/chef experience in a restaurant environment
Must have good all round cooking and food management skills
Must be skilled in all sections of the kitchen
Main duties include stock management, food costing and handing off all kitchen administration
Ability to lead a kitchen brigade essential
Successful applicant must also have experience in running a pass
Looking for someone who is well spoken and presentable
Must have strong knowledge of heath and safety procedures
The ideal candidate must be able to speak English (mandatory). Must live in Jhb and have his/her own vehicle.
If not South African, they must have a valid passport and work permit in place. (This is not negotiable)
I need someone that is open to take direction from the owner and senior management and action existing menu’s and systems that are already in place. There will be opportunity for creative input and implementation.
