OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Forming Operator, in a technical role, is responsible for operating and maintaining forming machinery. The primary objective is to ensure precision, efficiency, and quality in the forming process, contributing to the overall production excellence.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Machine Operation:
o Operate forming machinery according to set specifications and production schedules.
o Monitor machine parameters, making adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
o Maintain machine downtime within acceptable limits.
o Achieve and exceed daily production targets.
2. Quality Control:
o Conduct regular quality checks on formed products to ensure compliance with specifications.
o Address and resolve issues related to product defects or deviations from quality standards.
o Maintain a defect rate below 2%.
o Resolve quality issues within an average time of 24 hours.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Perform routine maintenance on forming machinery to ensure smooth operations.
o Identify and troubleshoot technical issues promptly, collaborating with maintenance teams when necessary.
o Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
o Resolve quality issues within an average time of 24 hours.
4. Production Efficiency:
o Optimize forming processes for maximum efficiency and output.
o Collaborate with technical teams to implement improvements and innovations.
o Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
o Achieve a 15% reduction in machine downtime.
5. Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during machine operation.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
o Implement at least two efficiency improvement initiatives per quarter.
o Measure the impact of optimization on the improvement of output quality.
6. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of machine operation, output, and any incidents.
o Generate reports on machine performance and production metrics.
o Maintain a 95% or higher accuracy rate in maintaining machine operation records.
o Ensure reports are generated and disseminated within established timelines.
7. Collaboration:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance and Technical teams.
o Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless production workflows.
o Measure the effectiveness of communication within the team.
o Assess the level of collaboration with other departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machine operation is a plus.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Forming Operator in the packaging manufacturing industry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
· Technical proficiency in operating forming machinery and understanding technical drawings.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
