Operations Manager - Wine and Leisure Estate - Franschoek
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our Hospitality operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a proven track record of leadership in the hospitality industry.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver a world class hospitality experience to guests whilst transferring the skills and knowledge to the team. The purpose of this position is to manage the guest experience throughout the Estate and exceed their expectations whilst driving sales and motivating teams. Important to this role will be taking an active role in facilitating and planning the future developments across the estate.
Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

overseeing the day-to-day operations of all hospitality departments;

staff management;

develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and exceed service standards

recruit, train, and supervise hospitality staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service
-
collaborate with other departments to coordinate seamless guest experiences
-
compile and monitor annual budget
-
oversee cost control measures to maximise profitability
-
stay updated on industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
-
ad hoc administrative duties;
Staff Management;
-
Manage Hospitality budgets (Guest house, Tasting Rooms)

Oversee estate events
-
Retail procurement – appoint relevant suppliers and selection of products
-
Liaising with media / VIP clients / guests
-
Customer service
-
Positively & actively promotes the company services and products
-
Provide training for a high level of service in the dedicated outlets
-
Manage customer experience throughout the customer journey on the Estate
-
Provide exceptional customer service
Responsibilities: Administration
-
Constantly evaluate service and offering to create and adapt plans for improvements
-
Oversee orders for Front of house stock eg. Retail, Water, packaging etc. in accordance with budget;

Ensure stock control and reconciliation of storerooms
-
Set monthly sales targets in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Manager and create sales strategy to meet targets

Prepare and present monthly sales and operation reports

Execute business objectives.
Profile
-
At least 7 years’ experience in a similar position
-
Must be excellent on: Microsoft Office Package, Including Powerpoint and be able to do presentations on senior level

A proven track record as an experienced Hospitality Manager

Excellent communication ( fluent in English & Afrikaans) and negotiation skills

Computer literacy MS Office

Excellent cuisine & wine knowledge with a passion for food and wine

A customer service driven individual

Experience in upmarket / fine dining Hospitality service

Attention to detail , problem solving, creative and innovative

Good leadership skills

A relevant tertiary Qualification in Hospitality management and/ or Project management
