POSITION: SALES ASSISTANT – ELECTRICAL DEPT @ RICHMOND PARK
Purpose: To assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for whatever need the customer has, in such a manner that the assistance of the Sales Assistant is appreciated by the customer when he/she purchases any product. This will include the ability to provide good customer service in such a manner that customer satisfaction is achieved, resulting in generating sales and promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth in margins and profits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner
2. Generate more sales, ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
3. Control stock levels and doing regular stock counts
4. Determine customer requirements and advising on products, price, delivery, warranties as well as product use and care
5. Advice customers with regards to range of products, which product would be best, to satisfy the customer’s needs
6. Place stock orders with buyers if necessary (through the Supervisor)
7. Attend to relevant admin tasks including upkeep of customer book, special orders file and forwarding of invoices as well as other relevant tasks
8. Assist with ongoing management of stock such as product inventories and participating in stock takes
9. Ensure merchandising is done properly and that the products are priced correctly
10. Ensure good housekeeping of work area
11. Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by superior
Requirements:
1. Must have a Matric or an Equivalent NQF 4 certification
2. Must have basic Electrical Product knowledge (Will be Tested – require 60%)
3. Having Hardware Product Knowledge Certificates will be advantageous.
4. Must specifically have worked in a Hardware Retail Store
5. Possess at least 2 years Hardware product exposure
6. At least 2 Year’s Hardware Retail merchandising/sales experience with Hardware products
7. Have intermediate Sales Techniques in a Retail Environment
8. Ability to read, write and count accurately.
9. Possess good communication skills / customer service
10. Ability to work independently and as a team player.
