Grade 1: R 495 423 per annum, Grade 2: R 607 350 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the SouthAfrican Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with theSANC in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science (R212) OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification(R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A postgraduate diploma (R635) accredited in Midwifery.
DUTIES (KEY RESULT AREAS/OUTPUTS)
Provide optimal, holistic specialized nursing care within set standards and professional/legal framework. Manage and monitor the efficient and effective utilisation of human, financial and physical resources. Participate in training, mentoring, research and implementation of the department's values. Provide Support to Nursing Services and the Institution. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Maintain a good relationship with the MDT and refer patients for a holistic approach.
EXPERIENCE
Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC inGeneral Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse withthe SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtainingthe 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma in the relevant specialty.

Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
INHERENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Willingness to work shifts (weekends, public holidays and nights) and willingness to work overtime when necessary. Also be prepared to assist in other nursing units as the operational needs requires.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS)
Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Good communication, interpersonal relationships, exceptional leadership and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape.
