SANCCOB seeks a full-time fundraiser to be based at its Table View centre in the Western Cape. The chosen candidate is someone who is able to build and nurture meaningful relationships with donors, and who has the technical skills and knowledge of online platforms and marketing tools that can be utilised to connect with donors.
The emphasis for this position is to manage and further develop the organisation’s individual giving and corporate funding programmes.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Meet pre-determined income targets and further develop SANCCOB’s individual giving and corporate programmes
- Donor relationship building and communications; both retention and expansion
- Use online marketing tools innovatively to engage with existing and prospective donors
- Research and identify philanthropic individuals and entities to present fundraising projects to
- Manage and further develop SANCCOB’s bequest programme, which includes liaison with estate executors
- Maintain, manage and grow the SANCCOB membership programme to increase memberships
- Management of the annual general meetings, including planning and successful execution
- Secure donations in-kind, which includes researching suppliers, securing goods and maintaining relationships
- Manage and grow third party fundraisers and platforms where SANCCOB is a beneficiary
- Maintain excellent donor records on SANCCOB’s data management system (DevMan)
- Facilitate donor visits
- Manage events from planning to successful execution as is applicable to donor portfolio
- Assist with fundraising and marketing within the resource development department
Requirements:
- Experience in sales, marketing, customer service and liaison will be advantageous
- NGO experience and knowledge of fundraising best practices will be advantageous
- Tertiary qualification in the fields of development studies, fundraising, marketing, communication, or other related fields
- Experience with online communication tools and marketing
- People-oriented; understands people and is comfortable cultivating and managing relationships
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Articulate ability to present a concept to motivate action
- Effective communication skills
- Result driven in a team environment, innovative, passionate and someone that shows commitment to the team and the cause
- Must be deadline and target driven
- Must be organised and proactive
- Financially literate and comfortable to work with budgets and present financial information
- South African citizen or with permanent residency or valid work permit
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence
