The Role
Macmillan Education is offering a dynamic internship opportunity for a Print Intern to support our Print and Distribution Department in Johannesburg. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain practical experience in print production and administrative tasks within the publishing industry. As a Print Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of our team processes, ensuring that our educational materials are produced and delivered to the highest standards.
The Requirements
Currently enrolled in or have recently completed a diploma or degree in Print, Graphic Design, Publishing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong interest in print production and administrative processes within the publishing industry.
Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when needed.
A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
The Responsibilities
Assist the Print Controller in managing WIP (Work in Progress) and ISBN records , ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
Help coordinate the quotation process by preparing print specifications and sending them to printers.
Support the tracking and management of print schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and updating stakeholders on any changes.
Assist in reviewing printer proofs and ensuring that all printed materials meet quality standards.
Participate in the processing of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Help maintain organized records of print orders, costs, and inventory within our systems.
Collaborate with the Print Controllers on generating reports, including cost analysis and performance metrics.
Provide general administrative support to the production team as needed.
