Position Overview
The Event Design Specialist is responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing the visual and experiential elements of events. Working closely with the CEO, Project Managers, clients, and suppliers. This role transforms event briefs into compelling concepts that align with client objectives and the Aleit brand standard.
The successful candidate will combine creativity, design expertise, and industry knowledge to create innovative event concepts, visual presentations, mood boards, layouts, branding elements, and guest experiences that elevate every event.
Key Responsibilities
Concept Development
- Develop creative event concepts based on client briefs, budgets, and objectives.
- Research current industry trends, design innovations, and emerging event experiences.
- Create mood boards, inspiration decks, colour palettes, and creative direction presentations.
- Present and communicate design concepts effectively to internal teams and clients.
- Use AI effectively to render various components as part of event concepts.
Event Design & Visualisation
- Design event layouts, floor plans, and guest journey experiences.
- Develop event branding elements, signage concepts, stationery, and visual assets.
- Create visual presentations and design proposals for client pitches and event planning meetings.
- Ensure all creative elements align with the approved concept and brand identity.
Collaboration & Project Support
- Work closely with Project Managers throughout the planning process.
- Collaborate with suppliers, production teams, florists, décor providers, and venue partners to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Participate in site inspections, client meetings, and creative brainstorming sessions.
- Assist with sourcing décor, furniture, styling elements, and custom production items.
Event Execution
- Oversee the implementation of approved designs during event setup.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure creative elements meet design specifications.
- Troubleshoot design-related challenges on-site and provide creative solutions where necessary.
- Support the team during event installations and strike periods when required.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain organised design files, presentations, and project documentation.
- Assist in developing internal creative resources and design templates.
- Ensure project deadlines are met and deliverables are completed to a high standard.
- Monitor design-related budgets and assist with cost-effective sourcing solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Event Coordination, Event Design, Visual Communication, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years' experience in event design, graphic design, visual marketing, hospitality, or a related creative field.
- Experience within the events, wedding, hospitality, or luxury brand industry will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong presentation design skills.
- Knowledge of Canva, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar visualisation software is advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Powerpoint & Excel).
- Proficiency in AI software to assist event design.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
