My client, a well established manufacturer of raw products, based in Firgrove is seeking to employ an
SHE Officer.
The successful candidate will have a National Diploma in Safety Management or similar and have 3-5 years experience in a safety function.
The role will be responsible for processing, maintaining, and tracking stock movement, adequate record keeping of all raw material and finished product.

The successful candidate will assist management in meeting the safety, health and environmental standards, implementing safety initiatives and ensure employee safety at work.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Safety Management or similar
- 3 – 5 years experience in a safety function
- Proven knowledge of OHSA
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIRA and incident investigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Implementation and monitoring of SHE management system
- Schedule and execute audits and ensure valid certification
- Carry out risk assessments on a continuous basis
- Provide SHE training, awareness and induction
- Keep SHE statistical records
- Contractor Management
- Reporting
- Incident Investigation
- Implement accident prevention and environmental impact activities
- Implement emergency and crisis management plans
- Act as emergency coordinator
- Weekly and monthly checklist verification
- Arrange and chair safety meetings
- PPE Management, laundry and cleaning of facilities
- People Management
- Ensure minimum OHSA legislative requirements are met
The candidate will be reporting to the HR Officer and be based at the Firgrove facilities.
