Maftown Internet Services is a fast-growing Internet Service Provider and networking solutions company based in Mahikeng.
We provide fibre, wireless, and enterprise connectivity solutions, CCTV installations, WiFi systems, and network infrastructure services to residential and business clients.
We are professionalising our operations and seeking a skilled, reliable, and self-driven technician to become a key member of our team and help drive service excellence.
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality network installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, CCTV, and WiFi deployments while maintaining excellent client service standards. The ideal candidate will act as a technical ambassador for the business, working independently with minimal supervision, ensuring installations are professional, documented, and completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Network Installation & Maintenance
-Install, configure, and maintain Ubiquiti-based wireless and fibre networks.
-Deploy and troubleshoot point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links.
-Install and configure CCTV systems (IP cameras, NVRs, access control integration).
-Design and install professional WiFi solutions for homes and businesses.
Network Monitoring & Support
-Perform continuous network monitoring using tools such as
Ubiquiti UNMS, UISP, and other monitoring platforms.
-Respond to network outages and performance issues (including after-hours and weekends on a rotational basis).
-Proactively identify and resolve potential network problems.
Client Service & Communication
-Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining technical issues in simple terms.
-Provide on-site support, training, and handover to clients.
-Manage client expectations and represent the company with integrity.
Material & Asset Management
-Take full responsibility for materials, tools, and equipment issued.
-Accurately record, track, and account for all stock used on jobs.
-Minimise wastage and report any discrepancies immediately.
General Technical Duties
-Work comfortably at heights (rooftops, towers, estates).
-Perform fibre splicing, termination, and testing when required.
-Conduct site surveys and provide accurate feedback for quotations.
-Maintain high standards of workmanship and site cleanliness.
Administration & Reporting
-Complete detailed job cards, installation reports, and as-built documentation.
-Update client records and ticketing systems promptly.
-Work with own laptop for reporting, configuration, and remote access.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Education
-Matric (Grade 12) certificate – essential.
Certifications (Non-Negotiable)
-Valid Ubiquiti certification(s) – UISP, UDM, or equivalent (must be able to provide proof).
-Networking certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) – strongly preferred.
Experience & Skills
-Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience in ISP/wireless networking environments.
-Strong practical experience with Ubiquiti products (AirMax, AirFiber, UniFi, UISP, GigaBeam, etc.).
-Experience installing and configuring CCTV systems.
-Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and wireless principles.
-Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues independently.
Other Requirements
-Own reliable vehicle – preferably a bakkie (pickup) suitable for carrying ladders, materials, and equipment. Must have a valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
-Own laptop (minimum i5/Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, SSD) with Windows/Linux capability for configuration and reporting.
-Willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs on a roster basis.
-Comfortable working at heights and physically fit.
-Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think independently and make sound decisions on site.
-High level of honesty, reliability, and accountability (especially regarding company materials and client interactions).
Advantageous
-Experience with fibre installations and OTDR testing.
-Knowledge of MikroTik or other wireless brands.
-Previous experience in estate or large-scale deployments.
