Brief description
The main purpose of this position is to provide team leadership within the Note Fitness Inspectorate of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) to ensure the quality of banknotes in circulation.
Detailed description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Fulfil the team leadership function of on-the-job training and the development and performance of the team.
- Develop and maintain sustainable business relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as commercial banks, suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Develop and maintain quality inspection standards, guideline and processes for the Note Fitness Inspection (NFI) function.
- Plan and allocate work for self and others in the team, using discretion in defining and prioritising work for the team.
- Analyse currency inspection data and provide relevant reports (with recommendations) to inform management decision-making processes.
- Diagnose problems and choose or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context.
- Contribute towards the formulation of functional and risk mitigation plans.
- Contribute towards the planning and control of the functional budget.
- Conduct supplier quality audits to evaluate the cash recycling centres’ compliance to banknote quality sorting standards.
- Proactively stay abreast of developments in the internal and external environment and broaden own knowledge of the functional area.
