Pinnacle College Ridge View is seeking an experienced and passionate Visual Arts Teacher to lead and develop our Visual Arts department from January 2027. This is a key appointment within our growing high school and would suit an educator who is passionate about nurturing artistic talent while delivering a rigorous, engaging and future-focused curriculum.
While the primary responsibility of this role is the teaching and leadership of Visual Arts, the successful candidate should also be willing and able to contribute to the Creative Arts programme in the Senior Phase where required.
As an IEB school, we are looking for an educator with a sound understanding of the IEB curriculum and assessment practices, who can guide students towards excellence while fostering creativity, critical thinking and technical skill.

Lead the development and implementation of the High School Visual Arts curriculum in line with IEB requirements.

Deliver engaging and academically rigorous Visual Arts lessons to Senior Phase and FET students.

Teach Creative Arts in the Senior Phase where required.

Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration, creativity and independent thinking.

Prepare students for practical and theoretical assessments in accordance with IEB standards.

Assess, monitor and report on student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support growth.

Organise and promote exhibitions, showcases, competitions and other opportunities for students to display their work.

Integrate digital technologies and contemporary artistic practices into teaching and learning.

Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Remain abreast of developments in Visual Arts education and continuously refine teaching practice.

An appropriate bachelor's degree in visual arts, Fine Arts, Arts Education or a related field.

A recognised professional teaching qualification.

Proven experience teaching Visual Arts at high school level, preferably within an IEB school.

A thorough understanding of the IEB Visual Arts curriculum, assessment requirements and moderation processes.

Demonstrated ability to produce consistently strong academic outcomes.

Excellent classroom management, organisational and communication skills.

Confidence in using digital technologies to support teaching and creative practice.

A passion for developing students' creativity while maintaining high academic standards.
