Within the Girls’ College we strive to produce confident young women who are able to lead a life of conviction and purpose. This is a part-time coaching position. The coach will be employed on a fixed-term contract, with remuneration aligned to their expertise and coaching level. Girls’ College invites applications for the above-mentioned position which will be available from 1 January 2027. We welcome applications from qualified and experienced individuals who are confident in their skills and competencies to excel in this role.
The requirements for this position are:
- Daily morning training sessions as well as one gala day per week.
- Availability for all training sessions and galas.
- Be involved in the Learn to Swim program.
- Coaching and management of a swimming team – Setting up team lists etc.
- Working with other swimming coaches
- Individual and holistic development of students as social and high-level athletes
The ideal candidate should have:
A minimum of 2 years’ coaching experience at Open level.
- A competitive level (post matric) or coaching experience in a school, university or club environment is preferred.
- A professional Degree in Phys Ed, Sports Science or Sports Administration would be an added advantage.
- An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach.
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance
