CMT Machine Mechanic
Job Specification
Position: CMT Machine Mechanic
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports To: Production Manager
Purpose of the Role
To ensure all CMT (Cut, Make and Trim) machinery and equipment are maintained in good working condition to support efficient production and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair and maintain sewing machines and related production equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults and breakdowns.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Replace worn or damaged parts as required.
- Set up and adjust machines to meet production requirements.
- Keep maintenance records up to date.
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Assist operators with machine-related issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as a sewing machine or CMT mechanic.
- Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment that operates using compressed air will be advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
