Job title: Quality Assurance / Software (Automation) Tester

Mission: Coracle Online Ltd is a UK Cambridge based digital education technology SME with a track record of developing innovative solutions around developing and providing digital tools to isolated learners and minorities so they benefit from technology in the same way as the mainstream population. Our basic premise is everyone, regardless of their situation, should have equal access to digital learning opportunities.
Our technology supports seafarers from over 50 countries allowing them offline study when at sea with no internet access coupled with seamless access when ashore. In prisons we are uniquely authorised by MoJ to support independent in-cell learning on secure laptops.
Position overview:
We are looking for a skilled QA / Software Automation Tester who is passionate about ensuring the quality, security and reliability of our educational web applications. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and conducting manual and automated tests to identify defects, verify fixes, and ensure an exceptional user experience for our learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Create comprehensive test plans and test cases to cover functional, regression, and performance testing scenarios.
- Execute manual tests to validate the functionality, usability, and accessibility of our educational platform.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Perform thorough regression testing to ensure the stability of new features and enhancements.
- Report and prioritise defects accurately based on impact and severity, and work closely with developers to facilitate timely resolution.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the overall quality of our platform.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a QA or similar role, with a focus on writing automated tests for web applications.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Experience with automated testing tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress.
- Familiarity with web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Pay: R30 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month
