Financial Controller
Work Location: South Africa (International Scope)

ROLE SUMMARY
The Financial Controller is responsible for building, implementing, and overseeing the financial infrastructure, reporting systems, controls, and operational finance framework.
This is not a traditional bookkeeping or accounting role.
This position is responsible for helping architect and operationalize the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling multinational healthcare, retail, technology, education, and distribution ecosystem.

The Financial Controller serves as the operational finance lead responsible for transforming the companyl into an institutionally structured and scalable organization.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Build the financial operating infrastructure for the company
- Implement scalable financial systems and controls

- Develop operational finance processes and governance structures
- Ensure financial visibility across all business units
- Support executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic insights

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Financial Infrastructure Development
Build and implement:
· Financial reporting systems
· Group reporting structures
· Budgeting frameworks
· Operational finance processes
· Management reporting dashboards
· KPI reporting systems
· Internal financial controls
· Approval workflows
· Financial governance systems
Coordinate implementation and optimization of:
· Xero
· SAP integrations
· Inventory systems
· Retail reporting systems
· Expense management systems
· ApprovalMax workflows
· International financial reporting structures
2) Multi-Entity Financial Management
Oversee and coordinate financial operations across:
· The company
· South Africa operations
· Future international entities
· Clinics
· Distribution operations
· Retail operations
· Product businesses
· Education and SaaS-related structures
Responsibilities include:
· Consolidated reporting
· Intercompany reconciliations
· Entity-level reporting
· Financial oversight and standardization
· Cash flow visibility across entities
3) Financial Reporting & Analysis
Develop and manage:
· Monthly management accounts
· Executive dashboards
· KPI reporting
· Profitability analysis
· Margin analysis
· Inventory costing analysis
· Retail performance reporting
· Cash flow forecasting
· Working capital analysis
Provide executive leadership with:
· Financial insights
· Strategic financial analysis
· Operational performance visibility
· Risk identification
4) Operational Finance & Controls
Establish financial operational discipline across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
· Financial policies and SOPs
· Expense control systems
· Procurement approval structures
· Revenue tracking systems
· Inventory valuation controls
· Retail and clinic reporting systems
· Internal audit support
· Financial risk management
5) International & Cross-Border Financial Coordination
Support:
· Cross-border operational structures
· Intercompany financial coordination
· Transfer pricing support
· Royalty tracking
· International reporting consistency
· Tax coordination with advisors
· Multi-currency financial management
Coordinate with:
· External accountants
· Auditors
· Tax advisors
· Legal teams

6) Strategic Finance Support
Support the CEO and executive leadership with:
· Expansion modeling

ROLE EXPECTATIONS
