This role plays a critical part in supporting plant reliability through effective preventative and breakdown maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, overhaul, and repair mechanical equipment and machine parts
- Assemble, align, and install equipment according to specifications
- Perform preventative maintenance across plant and utility systems
- Conduct daily plant inspections and proactively identify potential issues
- Respond to breakdowns and complete job cards efficiently
- Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient maintenance
- Maintain accurate documentation and update system records
Minimum Requirements
- N3 Certificate
- Qualified Fitter and Turner (Trade Tested – Olifantsfontein or equivalent preferred)
- Experience with computerized maintenance systems (e.g., SAP, Pragma)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Code B driver’s licence recommended
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational demands
- Able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
