Purpose of the Job:
To assist the department in investigating complaints of alleged contraventions of the Financial Sector Regulation Act and other sector laws whilst upholding the quality and integrity expected of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
- Investigate complaints relating to contraventions of the Financial Sector Regulation Act and other sector laws;
- Ensure that regulatory action is taken when the contravention is confirmed;
- Liaise with investigators with regard to the investigation process;
- Deal with debarments of persons who have been found to have materially contravened the FSR Act and /or any sector law;
- Deal with suspensions and withdrawals of entities authorised in terms of the FAIS Act; and
- Be able to perform administrative and other activities relating to the regulatory framework.

Candidates must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement and a confident and decisive approach; problem analysis, information gathering, communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, customer relations and persuasiveness skills. Good knowledge and/or experience of the functioning of the Financial Sector Regulation Act and other sector laws and knowledge of workflow system is essential.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Law or related field with 2 to 3 year working experience. Candidates must have an understanding of the Financial Sector Regulation (FSR) Act and other sector laws.
