DRIVER (CODE 08 & MOTORCYCLE LICENCE) (PE)
Join our team at DIESEL-ELECTRIC (CAPE)(RF) (PTY) LTD, a leading automotive wholesaler. We are seeking a reliable Driver for our PE Branch. You will be responsible for the safe, timely delivery and collection of goods and for supporting warehouse operations. Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer orders using company vehicles, ensuring goods arrive on time, complete, and undamaged.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately (delivery notes, proof of delivery, invoices) and obtain customer signatures for every delivery and collection.
- Keep company vehicles clean and roadworthy, complete daily vehicle checks, and report defects, damage, or incidents immediately.
- Pick stock accurately per picking slips/order specifications and pack items securely for dispatch or collection.
- Check picked and received items for damage, defects, and quantity variances, and report issues immediately.
- Work as part of the warehouse team to meet daily throughput targets and customer service requirements.
- Operate warehouse equipment and tools safely, following company procedures and health and safety standards.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards (clean aisles, correct stacking, and tidy work areas) to prevent damage and improve efficiency.
- Perform other duties as required by the Branch Manager.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Code 08 (B) AND a valid motorcycle licence, both with a clean driving record (essential - applications without both licences will not be considered).
- Driving and delivery experience, preferably in automotive parts or wholesale, with good knowledge of the local area and routes.
- Physically fit - able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Good verbal communication and a professional manner.
- Reliable, able to follow instructions accurately and apply sound judgement.
- Willingness to learn new processes and take on additional responsibilities.
- Basic numeracy skills (accurate counting, stock reconciliation).
Pay: R41,48 per hour
