Job Purpose
The main purpose of the network Voice Engineer role is to research, plan, implement, configure, deploy and maintain high-availability, evaluating the efficiency and performance of unified communications services including the voice Infrastructure across all CPUT campuses.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum requirements:
- Relevant National Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent qualification
- LAN/WAN infrastructure and telecommunications systems
- Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of voice and network environments
- Wireless voice and collaboration technologies
- IT service management and change management processes
- Knowledge of cloud-based voice solutions such as Microsoft Teams Calling or Webex Calling
- Voice gateway configuration and SIP trunk integration
Recommendation:
- At least / either CCNA / HCIA (International certified) and/or CCNA collaboration
- ITIL Foundation certificate, COBIT 2019 Foundation and Prince 2
- Microsoft Teams voice certification
At least two years’ experience in network and voice engineering environments
