Job Description
-This role will support the business strategy of leveraging IT systems to directly drive business value. The role is a De Beers Group business expert with extensive knowledge of the Safety, Health, Sustainable Development and Policy landscapes, processes and systems. They are aligned with IM and business objectives and operating model.
Key Performance Areas:
- Work safely and be committed to being a safety leader.
- Act as the key specialist point of contact for service providers in problem solving and investigations related to IT service and technology incidents and requests across the S&SD IT solutions landscape.
- Work with the operations teams and support partners to identify, plan and execute service improvements.
- Optimise business performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and IM systems.
- Work with the process owners in the business to drive the design of the overall business unit Global/Local solutions and creation of roadmaps to align this.
- Gains consensus on new process concepts and builds coalitions to move process improvement forward.
- Undertake complex process and systems analysis, design and proposal creation, which includes technical systems problem solving in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment with simplification, automation and digitalisation as key drivers.
- Provide coaching and advise on future use of technology and business process improvements in the S&SD community.
- Work closely with process owners and key users to understand business requirements and drive the building of quality IT solutions.
- Perform functional analysis, requirements definition and solution configuration and testing, in conjunction with delivery teams.
- Conduct prototypes, develop functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables in partnership with third party development teams.
- Assist in controls setup, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation for business systems.
- Lead and supervise development of solutions across projects and enhancements in the global solution scope.
- Drive the adoption of best practice and enforce the use of standard systems and solutions for local solutions and applications.
- Keep up to date with technology trends and developments and initiate proof of concepts (POC's) where appropriate.
- Identifies risk root causes and quantify potential business impact. Implements solutions to reduce level of exposure.
- Ensure the knowledge underpinning application/service delivery is documented, managed and maintained.
- Leads the development of reports and dashboards to analyse data for decision-making.
- Adheres to and participates in governance forums and processes.
Qualifications
-The successful incumbent must meet the following criteria:
- An undergraduate qualification (Bachelor's degree or equivalent)
- Experience working in a multinational, multi-cultural environment.
- IT Service Delivery, vendor management, project management
- Business case formulation, design and delivery of global enterprise solutions
- Senior stakeholder engagement and management
- Functional exposure to complex portfolio management concepts
- Extensive exposure to S&SD systems preferably including Isometrix, QMED
Required Skills / Competencies
- A self-starter who takes the initiative and follows though.
- Ability to work across organisational and functional boundaries, with good influencing skills, excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills, bringing people together to achieve a common goal.
- Proven skills in setting goals, planning, prioritising and administering work.
- Strong thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Understands business strategies and can make the link to IM contribution.
- Understands the IM Architecture and how their own work contributes to its achievement.
