Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Code EC driver's license with a valid PrDP.
- 3 years’ experience driving a heavy vehicle.
- 3 years experience driving a Super link/Interlink/combination.
- Must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport to and from work.
- Clean criminal record
- Medically Fit.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle for trip and operate heavy-duty vehicles.
- Load, Transport and offloading of vehicles.
- Handle required documentation and performed additional duties.
- All other reasonable instructions from Supervisor.
- Housekeeping of vehicles, uniform and PPE.
- Ensure timely and safer delivery of consignments to specified delivery points.
- Perform pre and post vehicle inspection to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Confirm the size and the measurements of the consignment upon loading.
- Ensure complete loading and offloading of the consignment with no damages either on the vehicle or the goods.
- Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects.
- Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher.
- Maximizing vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Vehicle loading and offloading techniques.
- Ensure timely and safe loading of the consignment in accordance with specified safety standards and national road traffic regulations.
- Record and update travel sheets upon arrival and departure.
- Ensure vehicle is clean and safe to always operate.
- Acts as the face of the company and sign-off on paperwork at client premises.
- Comply with company and policies and customer site rules and regulations.
- Assists in conducting routine maintenance checks on the truck, as such requiring basic training and competency in mechanics.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R6 800,00 - R9 500,00 per month
