Responsibilities:
- Achieve favourable outcomes on internal and external audits
- Cover responsibilities for team leave and assist others in need
- Create where necessary, maintain and update detailed process documents
- Adopt standard processes and controls and ensure all are adhered to Execute month-end procedures accurately and in a timely manner
- Log Operational Risk Register events as required on behalf of the team in a timely manner
- Monitor and review bank recons and unallocated deposits
- Perform and review calculations for multiple fees payable to advisers on a monthly basis and process journals accordingly
- Perform testing on IT fixes, enhancements and upgrades as and when required, including weekends
- Prepare and review ad hoc journals requested by advisers
- Prepare and review monthly adviser commission statements and monitor adviser loan accounts to ensure fully reconciled
- Regularly liaise with advisers on various matters, as well as PSG Wealth Financial Planning (Distribution), resolving queries/complaints in a timely manner
- Review and release daily batch payment and each element thereof
- Review and release local client account withdrawals/payments
- Review and release offshore client receipts and payments
- Review deposits, journals and BDA listings as required
- Review existing procedures in all areas of the department, identify gaps and inefficiencies and propose and implement improvements including new controls
- Take ownership of metrics reporting
- Take responsibility for complex ad hoc projects required by the business and deliver quality
- Take responsibility for incoming calls and allocations on JIRA
- Coach and equip team
Minimum requirements:
- BCom finance/investments/accounting or similar (NQF level 7)
- 3+ years of experience in financial services industry (preferably Securities/Stockbroking)
- Strong MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- BDA system knowledge advantageous
- Familiarity with JIRA workflow system advantageous
